Customers who work across borders keep asking where they are covered and where they are not. Today that means filtering the document list country by country, or exporting to a spreadsheet. A bar chart doesn't help either, because the interesting answer is usually an absence: a country with no contract produces no bar, and the gap is exactly what they are looking for.
The map is a new chart type for custom dashboard widgets, built on any field that already holds a place, such as jurisdiction or governing law. It shades a world map country by country and leaves the countries without documents as visible gaps. Countries can be shaded by number of documents or by an amount per country, the map can be limited to the area a team cares about, and clicking a country opens the documents behind it. Each map takes its own colour so two maps on one dashboard stay distinguishable.
The reason this has been hard to build is that the underlying data is never clean: every account writes these values differently, from country names in any language to cities, postal codes or nothing at all. So the widget places what it can automatically, and says on the widget itself how much it could not place rather than quietly dropping it. An admin then assigns those leftover values to a country once, with AI suggestions for the ambiguous ones, and they count from then on. That makes existing messy data useful immediately, instead of requiring a data cleanup before anyone sees any value.
